Tradewind Aircraft Service Center, LLC, . has completed our first dual EFD1000 Primary Flight Display (PFD), Multifunction Display (MFD) installation for a customer here in the Panhandle.

The Dual EFD1000's were installed in place of the existing altimeter, airspeed, and HSI. The turn co-ordinator and the attitude gyro were retained and relocated. We WAAS upgraded the GMA340 audio panel and GNS430. We removed the Cessna DME, Cessna 400 autopilot, Cessna transponder, Narco nav/com and indicator, King KCS55 compass system, and almost 40 lbs of original wiring. In addition to the Aspen displays, we installed a Garmin SL30 nav comm, Aspen EWR50 XM WX receiver, Garmin GTX327 transponder, and an STEC 55X autopilot with autotrim. Our mechanical department installed a JPI EDM930 Engine Data monitor, getting rid of all of the mechanical engine gauges.

We also replaced the instrument panels with new ones cut by SAIRCORP/Flight Boss. Larry does an excellent job!! Check them out at http://www.saircorp.com

Work was completed on the project April 28th, and flew a nearly flawless test flight.  The EFD1000 is an affordable glass cockpit system that enables aircraft owners to upgrade their primary flight instrument "six pack" to a glass cockpit.  The EFD1000/500 is now available. Please contact us for more information on an Aspen EFD1000 installation.
