Mr. Bridges brought
us this classic V-tail with the intention of a GNS-430 and a
GI-106A indicator. After we all were done looking at
the Narco MK-12 radio that was going to stay in the airplane, he wisely
decided to remove it and install an SL-40 comm and a GMA 340 audio
panel. We are also replacing the Cessna style #1 comm
antenna, removing the wire #2 comm antenna and installing a bent whip
on the bottom where the Loran antenna we removed was located.
The Loran was removed sometime before we got the airplane,
but the mount was still there. We are moving the transponder
up to the Lorans location, and manufacturing a panel below for avionics
circuit breakers, avionics master switch, and phone/mic/music jacks.
We are also installing copilot and passenger mic/phone jacks.
We removed the mast style flying vee nav antenna and are
putting a whisker type nav antenna under the tail.
Well I finally finished this installation. Everything went pretty
smooth. We manufactured a new LH upper panel frame for the
SL40, GNS430, and GMA340. Also manufactured a new lower panel for
the existing transponder that moved it up and outboard, lining it up
with the new avionics stack. All in all, I am extremely pleased that
this came out as well as it did.
Mr. Bridges is putting new interior and paint on this Bonanza. I cannot wait to see it when it is all redone!
